JMO reveals reasons for death of those found at Tangalle house
Details of the post-mortem examination of the 03 persons who were found from a house in Seenimodara, Tangalle, where a large stash of drugs were found yesterday (Sep. 23), has been revealed.The post-mortem conducted by the Judicial Medical Officer of the Tangalle Base Hospital, Ruwan Nanayakkara, has stated that they had died due to an overdose of heroin and beer.The Judicial Medical Officer is also scheduled to present the facts to the Tangalle Magistrate’s Court in this regard.
Two persons were found dead at the house while a third person had succumbed after being hospitalized.
Subsequent investigations revealed that a stock of crystal methamphetamine (also known as Ice) and heroin was found in three lorries, the police said. Investigations in this regard revealed that the relevant stock of drugs belonged to ‘Unakuruwe Shantha’, who is allegedly involved in numerous crimes and is hiding in a foreign country.According to reports, the drugs have been brought into the country via boats and had been initially stored in an abandoned house before being transported by a lorry to the house where the bodies were discovered.
Police have arrested 06 suspects in this regard so far.
