Colombo, April 7 (Daily Mirror) – The Restaurant Owners Association has announced a revision of food and beverage prices at eateries using LAUGFS Gas, following increased operational costs linked to rising gas prices.
Association Chairman Harshana Rukshan said the prices of rice, biryani and nasi goreng have been increased by Rs. 25, effective from midnight today (07).
He noted that around 25%–30% of restaurants and small eateries using gas are struggling to manage the rising cost of LPG, making price adjustments unavoidable.
Accordingly, the price of a plain cup of tea has been increased by Rs. 5, while milk tea has gone up by Rs. 10 in establishments using gas for food preparation.
Prices of snacks have also been increased by Rs. 5. However, there has been no revision in the prices of egg roti and paratha items, Rukshan added.
