Lanka Sathosa reduces prices of six essential food items
Lanka Sathosa Limited announced a reduction in the prices of six essential food items, effective from tomorrow (September 26).
According to the Ministry of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development, the price reductions will be implemented at all Lanka Sathosa outlets island-wide.The new prices are Rs. 309 for a kilogramme of big onions, Rs. 245 for a kilogramme of white sugar (bulk), Rs. 242 for a kilogramme of red dhal, Rs. 174 for a kilogramme of wheat flour, Rs. 173 for a kilogramme of red raw rice and Rs. 174 for a kilogramme of white raw rice.
The price reductions range from Rs. 1 to Rs. 10, with big onions recording the highest reduction of Rs. 10 per kilogramme.
