A new Extraordinary Gazette notification has named the Central Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB), located at Department of Labour Secretariat Building, 7th Floor, Colombo 05, as a place of detention under Sri Lanka’s Prevention of Terrorism (Temporary Provisions) Act, No. 48 of 1979. The notification, published as Extraordinary Gazette No. 2509/11 dated October 06, 2026, was issued under Section 9 of the Prevention of Terrorism Act by President and Minister of Defense Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
