Maithri group nominates three names for PM position

Former President Maithripala Sirisena says a letter has been sent to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa by 11 parties and the independent parliamentary group nominating three names to the vacant post of Prime Minister.

Former President Maithripala Sirisena said that the independent group has the support of 53 MPs.

According to sources, the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) and the group of independent MPs in Parliament have proposed the names of Nimal Siripala de Silva, Wijedasa Rajapaksa, and Dullas Alahapperuma for the post of Prime Minister.
