Cabinet nod to extend MoU to send workers to Malaysia
Cabinet approval has been granted to extend a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with Malaysia in 2016.
The MoU allowed recruiting workers, positioning them for jobs in Malaysia and repatriating them to Sri Lanka.
Since the term of the previous MoU had expired on Dec. 15, 2021, the Minister of Labour and Foreign Employment has proposed to sign a new MoU to extend the programme.
