Colombo, May 26 (Daily Mirror) – A 24-year-old man has been arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) after customs and police officers discovered a large stock of Kush cannabis in his luggage, police said.

The suspect, a resident of Gampaha, had arrived in Sri Lanka from Bangkok, Thailand, when he was intercepted by authorities.

During a search, officials found 8.365 kilograms of Kush cannabis packed into 19 separate packets inside his baggage.

Police said the estimated street value of the seized narcotics exceeds Rs. 80 million.
