A magistrate’s inquest into the death of a 23-year-old woman who was found hanged inside a house in the Warapitiya area of Kundasale was conducted yesterday afternoon (21) at the National Hospital in Kandy.An open verdict was returned, with no definitive cause of death being declared at this stage. Steps have been taken to send tissue samples from the body to the Government Analyst for scientific examination in order to establish the cause of death.Following the inquest, the body of the deceased was placed at a relative’s residence in Aluthwatta, Digana, to allow family and friends to pay their final respects. The funeral took place this afternoon (22) at the Balagolla Public Cemetery in Kundasale.
