The Department of Meteorology has issued an Amber advisory for strong winds and rough seas in the sea areas extending from Kalpitiya to Kankasanthurai via Mannar and from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota.The Department stated that strong winds of 50–60 kmph are expected at times, with rough sea conditions in the affected areas.Naval and fishing communities have been advised to exercise caution and closely monitor future weather forecasts.
