Rakitha Rajapakshe’s bank accounts suspended amid bribery probe
– Several bank accounts belonging to Rakitha Rajapakshe, son of former Justice Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe, have been suspended as part of an ongoing investigation by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).
The action has been taken under legal provisions relating to the proceeds of crime.An official said a team of CIABOC officers visited Rajapakshe’s residence in Nawala on October 28 to serve the notice concerning the suspension of the accounts. However, the Commission said Rajapakshe was not at home when the officers arrived.The official said CIABOC officers would visit his residence again to serve the notice.
