Expressing his displeasure on all politicians, Archbishop of Colombo Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith said he is fed up with all politicians.

“Politicians should at least show respect to the clothes they are wearing. We are fed up with all politicians,” Cardinal Ranjith said during a service held in Negombo. “There was a time when MPs from a certain political camp used to call others thieves. Today, it seems that those who called others thieves have become thieves themselves,” he said.

“The other day I saw a former Minister complaining of undue influence on the Judiciary. However, he had forgotten how the Chief Justice was removed during his time. Another politician is shouting about appointment of lay teachers to Catholic schools. This politician is like a chameleon who changes colours from time to time,” he added.
