The Department of Meteorology has warned that sea areas extending from Kankasanthurai to Chilaw via Mannar, and from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota, will be very rough at times due to strong gusty winds.

According to the advisory, wind speeds in the affected sea areas could reach between 60 and 65 kmph.The Meteorology Department urged naval and fishing communities engaged in fishing and naval activities in the relevant sea areas to remain vigilant and exercise caution due to the prevailing conditions.The warning has been issued as adverse weather conditions continue to affect several coastal regions around the island.
