12-hour water cut in Mahara and Gampaha for central expressway pipe relocation

– Water supply will be temporarily suspended for 12 hours from 7.00 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2026, to 7.00 a.m. on Friday (12), due to essential maintenance work linked to the relocation of water pipes for the Central Expressway construction, the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) said.
The interruption is necessary to facilitate ongoing infrastructure development, the NWSDB said.The water cut will affect several areas under the Mahara and Gampaha Pradeshiya Sabha divisions.Under the Mahara Pradeshiya Sabha, the affected Grama Niladhari divisions include Eldeniya, Gonahena, Webada, Suriya Palowa, and Udupila. In the Gampaha Pradeshiya Sabha area, Parakandeniya, Kossinna, Abaraluwa, Imbulgoda, and Yagoda will experience the disruption.The Board has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to consumers and advised the public to store adequate water in advance.
