Seethawakapura Police paid allowance twice by mistake
It is reported that, due to an administrative error by the management of the Bank of Ceylon (BoC) when crediting food, beverage and accommodation allowances due to Seethawakapura police officers for May 2026, the allowances were deposited into officers’ bank accounts twice.As a result, the Senior Superintendent of Police in charge of the Seethawakapura Division has issued a written notification to all District Officers, Headquarters Inspectors and Officers-in-Charge attached to the division.The notice states that officers should withdraw only the normal food and accommodation allowance to which they are entitled.
Since the bank has informed the division that it will recover the additional amount that was mistakenly credited a second time, officers have been strongly advised not to withdraw the excess funds under any circumstances and to leave the additional amount untouched in their accounts.
