The Sri Lanka Coast Guard noted that operations conducted during the past few months of 2026 led to the seizure of narcotics, prescription drugs and illicit goods valued at more than Rs. 55 million.The operations resulted in the arrest of 62 local suspects linked to drug-related activities.Seized items included heroin, crystal methamphetamine, hashish, cannabis, illegal medicinal capsules, foreign cigarettes and Kendu leaves.The Coast Guard also seized illegally imported dried turmeric, Goda, turtle meat and eggs, illegal shark flesh, dried fish and banned agrochemicals during separate operations.
