Revolutionary newspaper artist Sunil Madhawa who awakened the people’s hearts bids goodbye.
A veteran revolutionary journalist named Sunil Madhawa, who awakened Sri Lankan people, has retired from his journey of life at Thalangama Hospital this morning. Sunilayan who was drowning for a long time passed away at the age of 78.
He started his journey with the Lakehouse people’s newspaper and then the island .As a founding newspaper artist in the newspaper may be called one who has put a massive mission to its approach. Imhath was a popular recipient as its columnist. It is correct to say that the column “Eighth page” of Sunilas, “Diary of a truthful person” which was famous by the young generation in this country.
During the JVP terror, the young generation awakened the whole country with fear of death, when bodies were burnt, and were sterilized in the prisons, young minds were awakened by their weapons. Sometimes poems were written by him. He reminded our youth of the world’s revolutionary pre-travellers in their notes. No one got to see the newspaper artists who came out to write without fear. Thus the threats that put him to the letter, without stopping his duty in the face of death threats. This is why he did his job not care about his well being.

Sunil’s father was Meemana Premathilaka, a giant in the newspaper art of our country. He was the chief speaker of silumina There are many poems and books written by him. Sunilayan became his eldest son. His . Brother Sarath-Kalak was the author of the Lakehouse sports paper. His father’s brother Sumana Premathilake worked with many in the Silumina Kathu Mandulla.
