Colombo, May 7 (Daily Mirror) – Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Harsha de Silva rejected speculations that he is preparing to join the government.

In a video statement, Dr. de Silva said attempts were being made to misinterpret his political conduct and create unnecessary rumours about his future.

He said he viewed it positively that the government considered him someone worth engaging with, but stressed that his political approach had always been independent and based on speaking up on matters he believed were right or wrong.

Dr. de Silva further stated that some individuals appeared uncomfortable with the manner in which he functioned as Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Public Finance.
