Catholic Church denies seeking appointments of top security officials

The Catholic Church has denied claims that Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith requested the appointments of Public Security Ministry Secretary Ravi Seneviratne and CID Director Shani Abeysekara.Speaking at a media briefing, Archdiocese of Colombo spokesperson Rev. Fr. Cyril Gamini Fernando stated that neither the Cardinal nor the Church had made such a request.He also urged the public not to be misled by false and defamatory information circulating on social media regarding the ongoing Easter Sunday attacks investigations.
