The National Secretariat for Elders has announced that an island-wide survey of elderly care homes will be conducted on the 15th of this month.

The Secretariat stated that it continues to receive information regarding unregistered elderly care homes. According to Chathura Mihindu, Director of the National Secretariat for Elders, the survey will also examine possible arrangements for accommodating persons with disabilities under the age of 50 who are currently residing in elderly care homes at more appropriate facilities.
