Will appear before investigation whenever summoned: Namal

– Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) National Organiser and MP Namal Rajapaksa says he and his party will appear before investigative bodies whenever they are called, stressing that cooperation is the best way to prove innocence.
He made these remarks today (11) at the SLPP party headquarters on Nelum Mawatha, responding to journalists’ questions regarding whether former President Mahinda Rajapaksa would appear before the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) tomorrow.
“We will come whenever asked. We believe the best way to prove our innocence is to cooperate with investigations,” Namal said.
He added that investigations must be conducted fairly and without intimidation or political pressure. “The government should not use pressure or threats in this process. If that happens, it will not be a fair investigation,” he noted.Rajapaksa also alleged that certain issues are being politically manipulated, claiming that while some incidents are being covered up, others are being highlighted for public distraction.
“We are ready for proper investigations, but they must be impartial. The people will ultimately bear the consequences if the process is misused for political purposes,” he said.
