Letters of appointment have been presented to the members of the newly established Salaries and Pensions Commission, tasked with addressing salary and pension-related issues affecting public sector employees and pensioners. The appointments were handed over at the Presidential Secretariat today (24). The Commission, established by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake through an Extraordinary Gazette issued on 22 June, 2026, is chaired by retired Ministry Secretary T. Ashoka Peiris.
