Sharp rise in vehicle prices?
The Vehicle Importers Association of Sri Lanka (VIASL) Vice President – Arosha Rodrigo, has warned that the vehicle prices in Sri Lanka are expected to increase significantly.
He made the remarks during a recent press briefing, responding to discussions on the 15% concession granted to importers on used vehicles and its impact on government revenue.He added, “If the commission provided to us is eliminated, a Honda Vezel Z Play SUV could see its price rise by around Rs. 02 million, a Suzuki Wagon R could increase by around Rs. 0.75 million, and a Toyota Yaris could increase by around Rs. 01 million.”
