The Royal Botanic Gardens, Peradeniya has been granted with 10 new electric buggy carts.The vehicles were officially handed over under the patronage of Deputy Minister of Environment Anton Jayakody through a government-funded initiative aimed at modernizing transport facilities within the gardens.
Officials noted that the eco-friendly vehicles will help address long-standing transportation needs and provide a more convenient way for both local and foreign visitors to explore the expansive grounds. The addition is expected to improve accessibility and support the growing number of tourists visiting the gardens each day.The event was also attended by Thanura Dissanayake, Chandrika Jayawardena and several senior officials.
